Something New: "Fire Night!" Nov. 2, 2013
Culinary historian, Rachel Deddens, will not be able to prepare an authentic 19th century, 3-course meal cooked over an open fire due to a recent illness. We are keeping Rachel in our prayers and are encouraged by her progress. We switched gears and will have a delicioius dinner that will include chicken vegetable soup, then it's grilled pork with cranberry or bbq sauce, apple walnut salad, garlicy herbs de provence potatoes, biscuits, and followed with apple or peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and lavender buds.
Dinner will begin to be served at 5 in the farm’s restored barn or on the patio overlooking the lavender fields and gardens. Hot apple cider, tea, and coffee will be served with the meal. Wine will be available for purchase from Sans Soucy Vineyards.
The evening continues under the stars (weather permitting) with a performance by “FireCracker Jam”; a dynamic trio consisting of Billy Berger on mandolin and vocals, Steve Robbins on bass and vocals and Eric Warrensford on drums and vocals and they play everything from soft jazz to Alice and Chains. Their musical ability is second to none for each member comes from different backgrounds: jazz, rockabilly, country, and everything in between. They perform a professional show and challenge the audience to have as much fun as they do.
Come dressed in layers, but there will be enough "fire" around to keep you warm.

Evergreen Lavender Farm is a family owned business located in the rural community of Evergreen in Appomattox County, Virginia. In 2009, the farm began to transition from cut flower production to field grown lavender. The lavender harvested is used for our handmade sachets, eye pillows, lotions, and soaps. 'Provence' is our only culinary lavender, but other culinary varietes will be planted this fall. After July 28th, the farm is closed because the lavender has been cut, however if you would like to visit, please make an appointment. Lavender is not our only horticultural component, for there are several flower gardens to see. The farm will be offering scheduled workshops for successful planting of lavender, creating a lavender wreath, and making your own lotion, so "like" us on Facebook to know when they are or check back to our website. The farm is a wonderful outdoor venue to celebrate your special occasion, but remember, we are a farm, not a country club! We have many plans and are hopeful that visitors will discover Evergreen Lavender Farm as a relaxing, beautiful, and educational experience.
